NEW City approval process for resident-led park improvements
We advocated — and now the City of Cleveland is creating a consistent, transparent, and easier process for residents making small, large, or on-going improvements to a city park.
This new program will ease requirements, simplify city approval processes, and allow for community stewardship groups to enter into on-going maintenance agreements with the City.
THANKS TO YOUR FEEDBACK at our July 2024 Park Advocate Night, we were able to work with the City of Cleveland to refine this new program.
Struggle with hydrant access for your park, garden, farm, or greenspace project?
The Cleveland Department of Public Health and FARE (Food Access Raises Everyone) are working together to better understand the hydrant access policy in the City of Cleveland for urban farmers and gardeners, neighborhood arborists and parks and greenspace stewards and getting access to water for their projects.
They are working to create some recommendations to improve the process - internally within city departments and externally for growers, gardeners and stewards like you!
