City of Cleveland launches Community Projects in Parks Program (CP3)
New process for resident led park improvements
The Community Projects in Parks Program (CP3) is the official City of Cleveland initiative to facilitate community-driven improvements to City Parks. It includes:
Small, one-time park improvements.
Large, one-time park improvements.
Tree planting in city parks.
Public art installation in city parks.
Annual maintenance agreements with resident groups for city parks.
THANKS TO YOUR FEEDBACK at our July 2024 Park Advocate Night, we were able to work with the City of Cleveland to build this new program.

Park Action Guide Partnership
The Park Action Guide is a how-to guide for your city park. Wondering how to make a small upgrade? Demand action on a broken amenity? What permit you need? Posts are written by the Cleveland Parks & Greenspace Coalition based on your questions.
Soon, we’ll be partnering with Signal Cleveland to publish our most-clicked Park Action Guide posts, and reach a broader audience! Do you have a question you want answered?
👀Sneak Peak: Signs and tool kits for resident park organizers
We have a limited number of signs and park activation kits for resident groups taking care of city parks. Stay tuned for more info this summer!
Park Signs: Room for your group’s name to be included on the top, and for a custom QR code linking to your group. We could also partner with you to put together a video or digital story about your park and neighborhood that can be linked to this sign.
Park Activation Kits: With some leftover funding, we were able to secure a very limited number of park activation kits that include basic clean-up and programming materials.
Upcoming events and opportunities
Roberto Clemente Park Baseball League Opening Day, Sat. June 7th 11am: Join community members who have transformed Roberto Clemente Park for the opening day of the park’s baseball league. Also, the community market is open at 11am! Meet at: Roberto Clemente Park, 3690 Seymour Ave., Cleveland, OH 44109.
Help Build North Coast Yard Park, June 6th-15th, various times: North Coast Yard (north of the Brown’s stadium) is seeking volunteers 13+ to help build the new pop-up park on Cleveland’s lakefront. Everyone is invited! Learn more and sign up here.
33rd Annual Parade the Circle, Sat. June 14th 10am-4pm: Head to Wade Oval in University Circle for art, music, food, and free activities from Cleveland’s art and culture organizations. This year’s theme is “Magical Allure: A Vibrant Celebration of the Snowy Owl." Learn more here.
[FUNDING] Giving Circle 2.0, Weds. June 18th, 5:30pm: If you are a resident of Cleveland or East Cleveland and have an idea for a community project, complete this Google Form by June 11th to enter a drawing for $1,000 towards your project. You must attend the Giving Circle on June 18th to be eligible. Three additional prizes will be raffled for those in Juneteenth or African apparel. Ubuntu Gathering Place 2-year Anniversary, Fri. June 20th 12pm-3:30pm: Join East End Neighborhood House and celebrate at the Ubuntu Gathering space on the corner of Shaker Blvd. and E. 103rd St., Cleveland, OH 44104. Learn more here.
EJI + Black Environmental Leaders Marker Dedication, Sun. June 22nd, following service at Elizabeth Baptist Church: Placement of marker honoring John Jordan, the only documented lynching in Cuyahoga County. Meet at: Elizabeth Baptist Church, 6114 Francis Ave., Cleveland, OH 44127.
Greater Buckeye Neighbor Night, Mon. June 23rd 6pm-8pm: Join your neighbors for a powerful community night to grow connections, address community concerns, and find ways to take action, hosted by Neighborhood Connections. RSVP here.
