Check the results: your input on a new park improvement process for City parks
Thanks to all who showed out at our July Park Advocate Night to give feedback on a new process for resident improvements and use of city parks — there is currently no consistent process, so we’re starting from scratch. Residents discussed how to make the process transparent and easy to access. We crunched the numbers from the night:
As the City hires a new Parks & Rec Department Director and the Parks & Rec Plan wraps up, it will take time to set up a new process. In the meantime…

Climate Action Plan Community Roundtables being hosted on Cleveland’s east side Tomorrow and Saturday
The Mayor's Office of Sustainability is engaging residents through community roundtables to gather input on the goals and actions we should prioritize to reduce climate pollution and help residents adapt to the impacts of climate change

ICYMI: EPA awards TPL and Syatt $3,000,000
to support Cleveland Parks & Greenspace Coalition
The grant is scheduled to begin this fall, with programs continuing for 3 years
Funded through the EPA Community Change Grants Program, “The equity-driven, environmental, and climate justice community work in this award will encourage two-way communication between the City and residents, becoming a watershed event for a more resilient Cleveland,” said Sean Terry, Ohio State Director at Trust for Public Land.

Kerruish Park Community Meetings, Tuesday, Sept. 10th, 9am-11am or 5pm-7pm: Do you live near or are you a frequent user of Kerruish Park? Syatt, Trust for Public Land, and the City of Cleveland want your thoughts on a proposed mountain biking trail in the park. Join for breakfast or the evening cookout. More info here.
Conservancy for CVNP Low Power Happy Hour, Wednesday, Sept 11th, 5pm-7pm: The Cleveland Parks & Greenspace Coalition will be talking about how recent EPA funding will advance CPGC’s work for the next three years and ensure two-way communication between the City of Cleveland and residents. Fresh Fest, Saturday, Sept. 14th, 1pm-9pm: It’s back! Head to Rid-All Farms and Otter Park for a full day of performances, art , health and wellness activities, farmer’s market, local vendors, activities, workshops and fun for the whole family. More info here.
Cuyahoga Tree Summit, Friday, Sept. 27th, 9am-4:30pm: Join the 3rd annual tree summit to address the needs of our county’s tree canopy and hear from local experts and advocates. You can get FREE tickets here.
Impett Park Green Ups, Sundays, 9am-11am: Join Friends of Impett Park next Sunday to help them clean up and improve Impett Park. Work can include litter pick up, mulching, planting, and more! Register here.
