Recap: October’s Park Advocate Night

Thank you to everyone who made it out to our Park Advocate Night! We discussed how to best use the Coalition’s new funding for resource sharing, convening advocates, innovative park ideas, and opportunities to make change at City Hall!  Here are some key themes:

  • Convenings of park and greenspace advocates, Friends of Groups for peer learning and resource sharing must continue to grow (CPGC is here for that! 👀)

  • Lack of clarity on city processes for resident park use and improvement is still a large barrier to a more vibrant parks ecosystem.

  • A grass-roots accountability structure is essential for system-wide advocacy

A HUGE thank you to new Cleveland Parks & Recreation Director Alex Nichols for attending. We’re excited to partner and uplift resident involvement in our parks ecosystem.

Are you a park advocate working to improve a local park or greenspace? We’re building a network of residents to share resources, new ideas, and skills:
